A faster cleanout does not require packing every loose item into a box. It requires clear decisions, safe access, and an accurate scope. Prepare the property so the crew can see what leaves, what stays, and which items need another answer.
Finish the decisions that stop work
Choose one authorized contact for the appointment. If family members disagree about an item, move it into the hold area before the crew arrives. Gather keys, gate codes, elevator reservations, building rules, and parking instructions in one place.
- Remove documents, money, jewelry, medicines, firearms, and personal electronics.
- Take photos of rooms and outdoor piles after the scope is final.
- Confirm which appliances are disconnected and who handled the disconnection.
- Identify rooms, closets, sheds, or cabinets that are outside the scope.
- Keep pets and children away from the work route.
Clear a continuous path
Walk from the largest item to the loading area. Move rugs, lamps, small tables, wall decorations, planters, hoses, and loose cords out of that route. Unlock gates and doors. Mention weak steps, low ceilings, soft ground, septic areas, overhead lines, and narrow turns.
For apartments or condos, confirm elevator and loading-zone rules. Protecting a reserved time window can matter as much as packing the room.
